The colloquium will feature invited talks, contributed papers, and poster presentations. The invited talks will be given by some of the most distinguished scholars in the field, and they will cover a wide range of topics in theoretical linguistics, including syntax, semantics, phonology, morphology, and the history of linguistics.

The contributed papers and poster presentations will be selected from a pool of submissions from scholars around the world. The papers and posters will present new research on a wide range of topics in theoretical linguistics.

The colloquium will provide a unique opportunity for scholars to learn about the latest research in theoretical linguistics and to network with colleagues from around the world.

Registration for the colloquium will open in May 2024.

Call for Papers

The International Colloquium on Theoretical Linguistics (ICTL) is a biennial conference that brings together leading scholars from around the world to discuss the latest research in theoretical linguistics. The 17th ICTL will be held in Macau, China, from November 30 to December 2, 2024.

We invite submissions of original research papers on all aspects of theoretical linguistics. Submissions may be on any topic in syntax, semantics, phonology, morphology, or the history of linguistics.

Papers should be no more than 5,000 words in length, including references. Extended abstracts of no more than 1,000 words will also be considered.

All submissions will be peer-reviewed. Authors of accepted papers will be invited to present their work at the colloquium.
